About

The Belgian Jazz Meeting was an international network meeting and showcase festival for the professional jazz sector taking place every two years, with as its primary aim: promoting the Belgian jazz scene abroad.

The fifth edition took place in Namen at Le Delta from 11 to 12 February 2022. As every time, the Belgian Jazz Meeting offered international professionals a taste of Belgian jazz by inviting them to showcase concerts of some of our finest musicians.

The Belgian Jazz Meeting was organized by JazzLab, KAAP, Le Delta, Museact (Gaume Jazz Festival, Igloo/Sowarex, Jazz Station, Jazz04, La Maison du Jazz, Les Lundis d’Hortense), VI.BE & Wallonie-Bruxelles Musiques with the financial support of the Federation Wallonie-Bruxelles, the Province of Namen, VI.BE, Wallonie-Bruxelles International & Wallonie-Bruxelles Musiques and Sabam.

The event originated as the Flemish Jazz Meeting in 2005, an initiative by De WERF (now KAAP) and Flanders Arts Institute/Kunstenpunt*. Since 2013 it is a collaboration between partners from both the Flemish and the French-speaking community. Previous editions:

In 2018 the Flemish Government gave the green light to extend the mission of VI.BE, formerly known as Poppunt. Instead of Kunstenpunt, VI.BE is now the go-to organization for all non-classical genres on every level in Flanders & Brussels, and the point of contact for jazz, folk & world music.
